Farvel og tak for alt! Sebastian tager hjem til Italien efter 2 måneder på GG

1. december 2016

My name is Sebastian Olivera, I come from Italy and I’ve been staying in Denmark for 2 months When I queued for the long term stay with the Erasmus+ project I was pretty exited. I didn’t know anything about Denmark and I didn’t know the language. I knew that it would be a hard challenge, but it was an experience that I couldn’t miss.
When I came here I was a little bit afraid about how Danish people reacted on my arrival, and it has been a good surprise, discovering that Danish people are not as cold as I heard about. Right from the beginning I could feel that Danes weren’t as outgoing and energetic as Italian people are, but I still could feel at home. People in Denmark are very kind and always ready to help each other and foreigners if possible.
I’m also happy about having spent two months with my fantastic host family. They’ve been really kind and patient with me, and I’ve never lacked anything, and I’ve always been involved in the daily family life. They’ve always treated me as a grown up and they’ve been guiding me during this experience, helping me learning the language and helping me solving daily life problems.
Thanks to this long term stay I’m leaving Denmark as a more responsible and self-confident person. I learned to see things in a different way from the one I used to see. If I could stay more I really would and I suggest to anybody to join a similar experience if they have the opportunity.

Tak for alt,

Sebastian
